One purpose we have is to give charitably. We cannot turn our back on those less fortunate. They are part of our world, and we have a responsibility to make it a better place.

It is natural to feel miserly, to not want to part with what you have earned or been given. Money gives us a feeling of pride and security. If you have accumulated some money, then you have been blessed. Acknowledge that and give charitably. Your blessing will grow, and so will your spirit and soul.

You are being a traitor to your soul and your humanity if you don’t give your best efforts to the issues in your life. But if you are truly doing the most you possibly can, feel good about yourself. No matter the outcome, you can’t do anything more than your best.

If you are all alone, your soul will suffer poverty. As long as you have someone in your life you can turn to… smile, for you will never be truly poor.

Jewish people often toast by saying, “L’chaim!”. Many people think this means “to life”, but it actually means “to lives”. Why? Because we have two lives to toast; this one and the one to come.

The life you live now is meant for you to be productive. That is your purpose here. Being productive in this world will cause a result which will have a positive outcome in your World to Come.

So perform acts which will produce as many positive results as possible. Don’t confuse the issue. You are here in this world as the producer, not as the end result.
