Soon we celebrate one of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving. It doesn’t commemorate anything historical, political or religious. It celebrates gratitude. Your plate at the Thanksgiving table exemplifies a special spiritual attribute: Appreciating what you are served. You might not like some of those offerings, but you will find something there you can devour with gusto. This symbolizes your plate in life.

There is so much to be thankful for. Try to hold on to that feeling of gratitude and appreciation throughout the year. Even if you are alone and hungry, remember you have been given a test of the strength within you. You can pass that test. Thank The Holy Energy which gave you your spark of life. It loves you more than you will ever know. Continue doing good and you will receive spiritual thanks after this lifetime.

Have a joyous and happy Thanksgiving!

Most of us cherish our time. We could be being productive, doing a good deed, feeling love, or feeling joy. Time is very precious to us.

Have you kept someone waiting for “only” a few minutes, or were you “fashionably late”? When you aren’t prompt or unavoidably delayed, you are guilty of theft – you are stealing their precious time.

Why is this serious? Because a stolen object may be returned, but time can never be. So please respect the valuable time of another.

The best way to enrich or heal your soul is through acts of kindness. It’s the act which is important for spiritual well being, not the reward or acknowledgment. Therefore, feel no resentment towards someone if they show no appreciation for your goodness. Doing a kind act without getting any acknowledgment actually holds the greatest spiritual value.

An example would be finding a deer caught in an animal trap and releasing it. The moment it was free, it would run off. You would feel uplifted, even though the deer didn’t show its appreciation. Feel that way with all life, especially people.

The word for today is ‘altruism’. If you aren’t familiar with the meaning, please look it up. Then enhance your spirit by doing something altruistic today.
