Don’t think for a minute that someone else is better than you. It’s like comparing the lion to the elephant. They are both mammals, but they possess different qualities.

If you think someone is better than you, it isn’t true! They’re just different from you. You have talents others don’t – including that person you might be comparing yourself to. Take pride in your special qualities. One of you is a lion, the other an elephant.

There’s no wrong way to pray. If you don’t know the words when joining a congregation in prayer, just say whatever words come to mind. Don’t worry about what the person next to you might think. The Holy One will arrange your words for you, and you’ll be blessed for your effort.

When things are going well, I’ve heard many people use the phrase, “I’m blessed!” However, when times are tough, those people don’t use that phrase – because their blessing was not completely internalized.

The truth is you are blessed all the time. When something is going wrong, or when you are having a hard time coping with a situation, remember that phrase. It’s the Almighty’s way of building your character – and character is a blessing given you. Realize this during difficult times and your blessing will become manifest.

Success and/or happiness often comes to those willing to take a chance. We usually travel down the same road, so we may be averse or fearful to try a new path. The familiar feels comfortable, so we continue in the same direction – even if it may lead to failure or unhappiness.

Success can happen when you’re not too stubborn or afraid to take a new approach when warranted. Overcome your fear of change and you might make a constructive difference in your life. Stability and tradition are good foundations, but don’t be left behind when change is inevitable. Your future, and the future of those you love, is at stake.

Time is your most valuable commodity. Think of it in the same way you do about money. . . you want to invest any extra you have wisely.

Make your spare time productive. When you’re standing around, stretch or do a little exercise – to improve your body. When you are sitting somewhere, have a book handy to read or a notebook to write down your thoughts – to improve your mind. When you have no plans one weekend afternoon, visit a retirement home or help at a charity – to improve your soul. When you and your significant other are watching television some evening, turn it off and talk or play with each other – to improve your feelings.

The more productive you are, the better your world will be. Invest some of your extra time wisely today.
