There are special people who bring us spiritual light. Their radiance warms our soul. Others live for the mundane. If they fall they pick themselves up to rise to a higher level to overcome a future challenge. The former can show us a spiritual path through enlightenment. The latter are grounded spirits who may open roads for our earthly existence. Each are special souls with an extraordinary gift. We are blessed to have them both.

Truly spiritual people realize they have no rights nor expectations in their world. This would put a priority on themselves. This is selfishness.

Instead, they understand they have obligations which they should commit to – and to honor. This puts a priority on others. This is benevolence.

Some people don’t want to change themselves at this point in their lives. They have learned to be content with who they are.

What they don’t realize is they’re afraid to become a better person. Their contentedness is actually a sign of their vanity and insecurity. These people, unknowingly, have low self esteem. They no longer have the confidence to change themselves in order to better their world. They secretly feel so inadequate that acknowledging a personal defect could be damaging to them.

Strive to find things to correct within yourself. Instead of feeling threatened upon finding a personal defect, see it as a stepping stone to a higher plane.

Soon we celebrate one of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving. It doesn’t commemorate anything historical, political or religious. It celebrates gratitude. Your plate at the Thanksgiving table exemplifies a special spiritual attribute: Appreciating what you are served. You might not like some of those offerings, but you will find something there you can devour with gusto. This symbolizes your plate in life.

There is so much to be thankful for. Try to hold on to that feeling of gratitude and appreciation throughout the year. Even if you are alone and hungry, remember you have been given a test of the strength within you. You can pass that test. Thank The Holy Energy which gave you your spark of life. It loves you more than you will ever know. Continue doing good and you will receive spiritual thanks after this lifetime.

Have a joyous and happy Thanksgiving!

Most of us cherish our time. We could be being productive, doing a good deed, feeling love, or feeling joy. Time is very precious to us.

Have you kept someone waiting for “only” a few minutes, or were you “fashionably late”? When you aren’t prompt or unavoidably delayed, you are guilty of theft – you are stealing their precious time.

Why is this serious? Because a stolen object may be returned, but time can never be. So please respect the valuable time of another.

The best way to enrich or heal your soul is through acts of kindness. It’s the act which is important for spiritual well being, not the reward or acknowledgment. Therefore, feel no resentment towards someone if they show no appreciation for your goodness. Doing a kind act without getting any acknowledgment actually holds the greatest spiritual value.

An example would be finding a deer caught in an animal trap and releasing it. The moment it was free, it would run off. You would feel uplifted, even though the deer didn’t show its appreciation. Feel that way with all life, especially people.

The word for today is ‘altruism’. If you aren’t familiar with the meaning, please look it up. Then enhance your spirit by doing something altruistic today.

Creation was meant to put good in the world. But if that’s the case, why do we suffer through so many bad times? The answer is so you can recognize and fully appreciate the good ones.

Knowing what is bad should make you treasure that which is good. Good moments are the spiritual meals in your life. You should savor every good morsel placed on your spiritual plate. You see, Creation was meant for you.

Throughout history the wisest people made mistakes. Their bad decisions usually happened when strong emotions took control of them: They were angry, upset, or madly in love.

Don’t get distraught over a blunder you made. You’ll make another one. You’re fortunate to realize you messed up. If you can’t change an outcome, learn from your mistake and move on. But if you can correct your error and change things, it’s a bigger mistake not to.
