When you’re feeling inspired, whether intellectually or spiritually, take your feeling like a  healthy meal.  Your hunger for growth should not be to take a buffet plate piled high.  This kind of ingesting is for cheaper quantity, not quality.  You can end up overwhelmed, and much of your gain is not mental or spiritual “muscle”.

Instead, choose a well prepared and sensible portion of intellect or spirituality to feast on.  This kind of meal is based on quality.  You can appreciate more of what you ingested, and what you digest is better retained for your mind and soul.

We all think bad or negative thoughts from time to time.  Yet in all of the animal kingdom, only man, by exercising his free will to suppress his negative or evil inclinations, can make a positive contribution to the cosmic drama to bring about a gentler and kinder way of life.

If you make an effort to really listen, to stretch out your hand, to whisper a kind word of encouragement, or attempt to understand a lonely person, extraordinary things will begin to happen –  to you and to them.

When a topic of discussion causes you to react heatedly to another, it makes the other person respond harshly as well.  This turns a discussion into an argument, and the emotions on both sides tend to escalate.  The conversation transforms from a civil and intelligent dialogue into a discourteous and emotional verbal battle.  No matter who gets in the last word, there is no real winner in this situation.
You can prevent such an outcome by taking control of your inner self.  When you hear an opinion which sharply differs from your own, take the time to pause, reflect, and not answer back immediately.  By doing this, you prevent a lot of distress.
The offensive and defensive nature of another dies down when only that person is engaged in a battle.  When you practice such self discipline, you avoid sinking in to a spiritual abyss and instead raise yourself to a higher spiritual plane.  Then you become the winner.

Giving to someone is not always a good deed.  If someone needs money or a favor and you help, this would be a good deed.  But if someone is lazy or devious and just uses others to help support him, to give this person money or a favor would not be a good deed.  You would only be enabling him to continue down a bad path, and this is not doing something for the betterment of that person.

There are different levels of giving.  These are (in order from the lowest):

To give begrudgingly.
To give less that you should, but at least giving it cheerfully.

To give when someone asks you to.

To give from your heart before
someone asks you to.
To give when you don’t know who you’re giving to, but they know who you are
and what you are doing.
To give when you know the person involved, but he doesn’t know who you are or what you are doing.

To give when neither of you know who the other person is.

To give someone an opportunity to become self-reliant.

You are performing a good deed when you do any of the above categories, yet how blessed you are when you give from a level that is on the lower half of this list.

A time that can change your psyche is when you have children.  If you don’t have children, or don’t plan on having any, you might not understand or believe this ‘Smile’.  But don’t be too concerned if you’re comfortable with yourself.

There is one quality we all possess which is the greatest of motivators, and we find that it is often all-consuming.  Is it Greed?  Revenge?  Loyalty?  Survival?  There are many qualities we could name.  But the greatest and most consuming quality that we have in us is love.

Nothing created by the Energy Of The Universe is worthless.  All things here give honor to It by showing us how great It is.  So all things are sacred in some way, each having some part in It’s service.  This teaches us to respect all things in our world.

Be daring.  Be different.  Be anything where you can assert integrity in your purpose and imagination in your vision.  Take yourself beyond those who are too afraid to do anything other than play it safe.
